1) Industrial Scale PV Applications The U.S. Department of Energy requests proposals for PV Manufacturing Initiative Part 2: SUNPATH (Scaling Up Nascent PV AT Home). This program seeks to stimulate technological innovation in the private sector by strengthening the role of small business concerns in meeting Federal R&D needs, increasing the commercial application of federally supported research results, and fostering and encouraging participation by socially and economically disadvantaged and women-owned small businesses. Through this RFP, EPA will support the development of a plan, calculation of sustainability metrics using publicly-available data on the San Luis Basin region, compilation of the results into a report, publication of results, training of stakeholders to adaptively manage resources in the region, and determination if the regional system is moving toward or away from sustainability. $200K expected to be available, one award anticipated. Through this RFP, CEC seeks applications from not for profit technology entities to administer, manage and coordinate demonstration projects for advanced, alternative technology medium– and heavy-duty vehicles for near commercial on– and off-road applications. Preference will be given to demonstration projects that focus on moving goods and people in California’s air basins with the greatest need for reducing greenhouse gas and criteria emissions. Projects must show near term commercialization and production capabilities, reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and reduce petroleum use. $16.9 million expected to be available.
